Accessibility
Our commitment to a welcoming, usable experience for every visitor — regardless of how they experience the web.
At The Pelvic Lab, we believe everyone deserves clear, compassionate access to information about their pelvic health. We are committed to making thepelviclab.com accessible and usable for all visitors, including those who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, or other adaptive tools.
Our Standard
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our target for this website. These are internationally recognized guidelines for making web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those with visual, auditory, motor, or cognitive differences.
We strive to meet these guidelines across all pages and features we control.
What We Have Done
We conducted a manual accessibility audit of this website in March 2026. That review covered:
- Keyboard navigation — all interactive elements are reachable and operable without a mouse
- Screen reader compatibility — page structure, headings, labels, and interactive elements are correctly identified for assistive technology users
- Color contrast — text and interactive elements meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast requirements
- Heading structure — pages use a consistent, logical heading hierarchy
- Form accessibility — contact form fields are labeled, keyboard-operable, and announce errors and confirmations correctly
- Image descriptions — non-decorative images include descriptive alternative text
- Link descriptions — links describe their destination or purpose
- Video and motion controls — videos include pause controls; animated content respects reduced-motion preferences
- Skip navigation — a skip link allows keyboard users to bypass repeated navigation
We take direct responsibility for the HTML, CSS, and content we have created and maintained on this site.
Platform Considerations
This website is built on Squarespace, a third-party website platform. While we have taken every available step to ensure our content meets WCAG 2.1 AA standards, certain platform-level behaviors — including some built-in interactive components and template elements — may have limitations we cannot directly modify. We continue to work within and beyond those constraints wherever possible.
